The College of Applied Medical Sciences (CAMS) at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) was established in early 2006 with the aim to qualify Saudi Applied Health Technologists and thus narrow the wide gap in the ratio of these professionals to physicians.
The first set of Post-Baccalaureate Certification Programs in Clinical Chemistry, Cytotechnology and Molecular Biology were followed by the start of three programs at the Bachelor level, which are Respiratory Therapy, Emergency Medical Services, and Medical Laboratory Sciences. In 2009, the Post-Baccalaureate Program of Cardiovascular Technology was initiated. CAMS is planning to implement other programs such as Occupational Therapy, Radiology Sciences, Audiology and Speech Therapy, Anesthesia Technology, and so forth.
