Emergency medical therapists are members of a health team in general and of an emergency medicine team specifically. They provide care to injured patients in the field prior to moving and transporting them to the hospital. In addition, they work in the Emergency Department as part of the emergency team. They participate in community programs, such as prevention and health promotion programs related to their fields. They also participate in training, education and research programs related to their specialties. The Emergency Medical Services curriculum is based on the Flinders University in Australia and has been adapted to suit the needs of the Saudi community.
