This program aims at overcoming the shortage of qualified health systems leaders and managers. It is a two-year full-time program for students with work experience from a variety of backgrounds. It provides up to date knowledge and practical skills necessary to improve professional competence. Furthermore, it supports students as they become proficient in analyzing healthcare problems and appraising solutions appropriate to their own context. Graduates will have extensive knowledge and skills in health systems development and reform, planning and management, quality improvement, resources management, evaluation and research methods necessary to answer health systems challenges in the 21st century. Participants will be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained, to synthesize information from a wide range of sources and act on it, and critically plan, implement and evaluate healthcare interventions that make the best use of resources.
The program curriculum consists of a foundation course (non-credit based), six core modules (five on public health and one on health informatics), seven compulsory Health Systems and Quality Management modules (3 credits each), and a research project on a related topic (3 credits).
