Post-Bachelor Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences

This program aims to prepare graduates from colleges of sciences for the job of medical laboratory technologist in the areas of Cytotechnology, Molecular Biology, and Clinical Chemistry. The program consists of four semesters. The first semester encompasses a comprehensive English language course, with the remaining three semesters focusing on theoretical and laboratory seminar sessions that are pertinent to the program scope. The fourth semester includes clinical / laboratory work; allowing students to apply technical procedures learned through the theoretical course-load. Throughout the academic year, some courses are common and therefore shared by all students.

The program reflects the current laboratory diagnostic practices and techniques and ultimately prepares the student for a career in Laboratory Medicine. All courses are taught in English by credentialed faculty, and are conducted in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. The curriculum is based on the Thomas Jefferson University’s curricula, USA and has been adapted to suit the needs of the Saudi Community
