Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)  
Location: Postgraduate Training Center Auditorium, KAMC - Riyadh 

TBI is a very common problem faced. Evidence based management of patints with TBI in the initial golden hour can significantly reduce mortality and improve outcome. Many recent researches are guiding the management of patients with TBI. The impact of TBI on the patient, family and community is very major.

The purpose of this course is to introduce the new guidelines of managing patients with TBI and update health care providers with the most recent knowledge and skills needed to support and manage critically ill patients with TBI.

Who should attend: This course is open for all: ICU , ER, Neurosurgery, Radiology & Rehabilitation Physicians and for Nurses as well.

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the TBI course, the participant will have been taught to:
  • Describe the epidemiology of TBI.
  • Identify patients with TBI and classifying severity of injury.
  • Describe the latest research regarding the management of patients with TBI.
  • Describe why evidence based management of TBI reduces mortality and improves outcome.
  • Describe recommended initial therapy in TBI.
  • Describe special population at risk of TBI.
  • Describe the impact of TBI on patient, family and community.
  • Describe proper prevention of TBI for population at risk.
