Due to the importance of raising awareness of kidney diseases, their causes and preventive measures as well as the risks that accompany late diagnosis of the kidney’s functional limitations,the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) in collaboration with the International Federation of Kidney Foundation (IFKF) has organizing a special day to increase community awareness of the seriousness of kidney and urinary tract diseases. Commonly, such diseases are detected through periodic examination of intestines or through the laboratory tests. This occasion is held on the 2nd Thursday of March of every year.The estimated number of people with kidney diseases is about 400-600 million adults around the world. Some statistics show that a number ranging from 90 to 110 people per million have renal failure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 250 per million in the USA, and about 300 people per million in Asian countries.
