Inauguration of Large Projects in the NGHA

The National Guard Health Affairs inaugurated yesterday 11 June 2011 several vital projects to the NGHA, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center under the sponsorship of his Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, Minister of State, member of the Council of Ministers and Commander of the National Guard in the Conference Hall - College of Medicine, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.

   
These projects include the Guest House Building personally sponsored by The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Sheikh Sulaiman Al Rajhi Trauma Center as well as the expansion of King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center and College of Public Health and Health Informatics, College of Medicine and College of Nursing, in addition to a number of scientific programs for King Abdullah International Medical Research Center such as Cord Blood Bank, DNA Bank and the first Saudi Bone Marrow Donor Registry (SBMDR).

In addition,  Prince Mitib bin Abdullah laid the foundation stone for the Medicine and Neurosurgery Center project which will contribute in treating and performing  brain, spine and nerve surgeries in a attempt to develop and support health care specialties, pointing out that the area of the center is 46,000 square meters and its capacity is 176 beds.

   
Future health development projects were demonstrated in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, such as constructing a field military medicine building,   cardiac x-ray building for heart diseases, intensive pediatric cardiology unit,  the expansion of dental operating rooms in addition to establishing a pediatrics hemodialysis and oncology unit , and improving a number of primary health care centers as well as the project of establishing residential units in addition to increasing the capacity of the main power plant.
