• The Pre-Professional Program
The Pre-Professional Program at KSAU-HS aims at preparing high school graduates to pursue professional studies in health sciences. It provides them with the language skills essential for studying and communicating in an English language medium. Furthermore, it moves the students from high school didactic and passive learning into university student-centered education, and introduces them to the basic concepts of general and medical sciences necessary for higher-level education in the health sciences.
All KSAU-HS students have same study plan in their first three semesters. In the fourth semester, students start taking courses closely related to their health science specialties.
Courses in this program cover intensive and advanced English, Arabic language, Islamic culture, biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, biochemistry, biostatistics & EBM, behavioral sciences, computer applications health informatics, anatomy & physiology, principles of diseases, basic pharmacology, health profession education, medical ethics & patient safety.
• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery
The Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program has been prepared in collaboration with the University of Sydney, Australia. Since its inception in 2004 the program is characterized by being outcome-based, student cantered, community-oriented and problem-based. Furthermore the program utilizes optimal information technology; multiple and advanced instructional methods including team and problem-based learning. These methods promote problem solving, critical thinking and clinical reasoning. The selected methods are applied in organ system blocks integrating basic and clinical sciences. Students are provided with opportunities to deal with diagnosis and management of patients as early as the first course in the first year pf the program. This approach to learning furnishes the students with the needed and necessary attributes for their future role as physicians. These attributes include but not limited to professionalism, research, communication, collaboration, personal and professional development and patient safety. The program is continuously recruiting the best students as well as competent faculty members. So far the program graduated ten batches and many of our graduates are working as consultants in our health system. Additionally the program is recognized by the World Federation of Medical Education and registered in all renowned international databases of medical schools.
• Bachelor in Dentistry
The College of Dentistry at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences has been established by virtue of a decree issued by the University Council in its first session of the academic year 2006/2007 held on 19/12/2006.

• Bachelor Of Pharmacy
The Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) programs are being implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and around the world to meet such elevated demand in practice. This six-year curriculum integrates basic, clinical, and research sciences along with advanced clinical training all aimed at improving health outcomes for patients. Delivery of this curriculum involves strong collaboration with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MN-GHA), especially the Pharmaceutical Services Department.
• Bachelor of Health Informatics
The purpose of the Bachelor of health Informatics is to equip graduates with the required knowledge, professional and technical skills related to health care and information technology. Therefore, the establishment of this program is aimed to accommodate the growing needs nationally and internationally in the rapidly changing field of health Informatics as graduates will have a great contribution in managing health information in hospitals and clinics as well as working in managing the design and implementation of health information technology and maintaining the Electronic Health Record systems. More emphasis is placed on this program as more governmental and private healthcare organizations are deploying information technology solutions in compliance with the Saudi’s vision 2030.
• Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy
This program is designed to combine both the theoretical knowledge and clinical experience since it seeks to provide students with an exceptional education to prepare them to be qualified health personnel in the respiratory therapy field. The program also seeks to prepare students to hold leadership and supervisory positions in either clinical, educational, or scientific research field. The program is adapted from the University of South Alabama in the United States, with the necessary changes to meet the needs of the university and Saudi Society.
• Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Services
The Emergency Medical Services Program (EMS) is the first BSc program in the Kingdom that was initiated to qualify National Saudi Paramedics according to the International High Standard. The program seeks to fill the wide gap of this especially in relation to other emergency healthcare manpower and promote a state-of-art model for emergency medical services education. Most of EMS programs around the world follow traditional curriculum and a few of them use case-based curricula.
• Bachelor of Clinical Laboratory Sciences
Though many universities, healthcare facilities and programs exist throughout the Kingdom, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) is the only Health Sciences University. The Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLAB) Program started when the College of Applied Medical Sciences (COAMS) was established early 2006. CLAB program features a unique training curriculum created specifically to educate and prepare laboratory technologist with the knowledge, attitude and skills necessary to assure the highest quality in patients care services.
The main aim of this program is to graduate clinical laboratory (male & female) technologists with the optimal level of abilities and skills to practice in clinical laboratories, assist physicians’ in patient care, conduct research, and participate in community services.
• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
The occupational therapist helps people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing support for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
• Bachelor of Science in Anaesthesia Technology
Anaesthesia Technology is an allied health profession specifically focused on fundamental and advanced clinical procedures which assist the anesthesiologist in the safe and efficient care of patients undergoing anesthesia. Anaesthesia technologists may work in a variety of clinical settings including: hospital operating room, interventional and diagnostic radiology, labor and delivery units, intensive care units, emergency rooms, outpatient procedure suites and ambulatory surgery centers. Anaesthesia Technologists is responsible of IV team services and provide the highest standard of care for all patients, pediatric and adult that requiring Intravenous cannulation.
• Bachelor of Radiology Sciences
Radiology programs focus on patient care procedures, medical ethics, radiobiology, medical terminology, physiology, and pathology, as well as extensive clinical training to operate complex equipment and study X-rays. The program will teach other diagnostic imaging technologies including computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The radiologic technologist works closely with the radiology doctor (radiologist) and other physicians and plays a vital role as a professional member of the medical team. Technologists work in the hospitals’ general radiography, surgery, trauma, pediatrics, clinics, doctors’ offices, CT, mammography, and imaging centers.
• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition
The Clinical Nutrition program (CNP) at the College of Applied Medical Sciences (CAMS) is a clinically focused program that integrates biomedical and nutrition sciences to develop a deep understanding of clinical nutrition therapy. The College adopted (with modifications) the Clinical Nutrition program of The University of Oklahoma in the USA. This program expands the knowledge of the biochemical basis of human nutrition as it relates to health, disease and disease prevention.
It aims to train dietetic professionals in the methods, implementation and interpretation of nutrition science. Also it prepares them for future careers as dietitians in health care, community, and private practice settings. Within the context of this broad aim, the program is designed to prepare graduates with in-depth, evidence-based knowledge and intellectual skills in Clinical Nutrition to encourage the development of autonomous advanced dietetics practitioners and researchers.
• Bachelor of Cardiovascular Technology ( C.Catheterization)
This program is, specifically, focused on graduates specialized in cardiac catheterization in the field of diagnosis and treatment. Student will study in the program for four years, including two years preparatory, followed by two years of studying basic and advanced cardiac and modern catheterization science. The student graduates after the completion of four years followed by a year of internship (12 months) at King Abdulaziz Medical City or any other facility that is approved by the university.
• Bachelor of Science in Speech Therapy
This program is comprehensive and emphasizes the speech, language, and hearing processes, knowledge about human communication and swallowing disorders, and evaluation and treatment methods. This program includes all relevant scientific courses that are being taught in well-known American universities. This program involves four years of full-time study including two pre-professional years, followed by two years of studying speech, language, and swallowing sciences. After the completion of four years, a year of internship (12 months) must be completed.
• Bachelor of Science in Audiology
This program is a combined educational and clinical program designed to train clinical audiologists to serve the hearing and balance healthcare needs of individuals from newborns to the very old. This program includes all relevant scientific courses that are being taught in well-known American universities. This program involves four years of full-time study including two pre-professional years, followed by two years of studying audiology and balance sciences. After the completion of four years, a year of internship (12 months) must be completed.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
This program is available in the three campuses, Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Ahsa. The program includes courses with practical applications and clinical training at the King Abdul Aziz Medical City and centers of primary medical care. The program aims to provide a high level of education in undergraduate to be a portal to improve the quality of nursing profession. Also, enhancing nursing practice based on evidence which features a high level that fit culture and environment. In addition, to meet health care needs of the community as a whole through scientific research, education and providing service. It enhances cooperation between different fields to improve the knowledge of nursing and health care.
