The Clinical Nutrition Program (CLNP) at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences participated in an educational booth hosted by The Olaya Education Office مكتب التعليم بالعليا, focusing on Drug Safety/الأمن الدوائي. This initiative was designed to enhance awareness among school students about the critical interactions between food nutrients and medications, which are crucial for effective health management.
Participants at the booth included CLNP interns, senior students, and alumni, all under the supervision of CLNP faculty members.
They provided insights into the impact of modern pharmacotherapy in diabetes management and weight loss, highlighting the use of trending medications such as Mounjaro and Ozempic. These discussions also covered the dual role of these medications in diabetes and weight management, showcasing the intersection of clinical nutrition and pharmacology.
Additionally, the booth emphasized the importance of balanced micronutrient intake, educating attendees on how vitamins and minerals interact with medications, as well as educating attendees on micronutrient absorption and bioavailability.
