 Dr. Meshary Bin Hotan

Assistant Professor
Dr. Meshary Bin Hotan is an Assistant Professor in the Emergency Medical Services Department at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, KSAU-HS. His academic journey began with a BSc in Emergency Medical Services from the same institution, followed by an MSc in Critical Care with merit from Queen Mary University of London. He furthered his expertise with a PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Southampton, where his research focused on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and emergency dispatch systems.

Dr. Bin Hotan's professional experience is a blend of academic and clinical roles. He is currently an Assistant Professor at KSAU-HS and a Senior Specialist Paramedic with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs. He has previously served as a Teaching Assistant at KSAU-HS and completed internships with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and King Abdulaziz Medical City Hospital. In addition, he has taken on administrative responsibilities as a Quality Officer in the Emergency Medical Services Department at KSAU-HS.

Dr. Bin Hotan's research interests are reflected in his extensive publication record. He has co-authored numerous articles in reputable journals, focusing on topics such as electronic referrals, public awareness of emergency medical services, and the epidemiology and outcomes of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He has also presented his research at various conferences and workshops, including the European Resuscitation Congress and the London Trauma Conference. His contributions to the field of emergency medical services have been significant, and his research continues to inform and improve practices in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
