 Mr. Ali Al Shahrani

Teaching Assistant
Mr. Ali Al Shahrani is a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is making significant contributions to the Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Department at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. As a distinguished alumnus of this institution, his Bachelor's degree in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology served as a strong foundation for his flourishing career in cardiac catheterization.

Driven by an unwavering passion for advancing knowledge and improving patient care, Mr. Al Shahrani pursued a Master's degree in Cardiology from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom. His master's thesis was a comprehensive systematic review of left atrial appendage occlusion as a stroke prevention strategy in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, meticulously comparing its efficacy and safety to traditional oral anticoagulant therapy.

Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Cardiovascular Epidemiology at the prestigious University of Manchester, United Kingdom. His doctoral research focuses on the intricate relationship between cancer and cardiovascular disease, leveraging the vast potential of electronic healthcare records and primary care data from the UK to uncover valuable insights that could revolutionize our understanding of this complex interplay. This groundbreaking research aims to identify potential risk factors, optimize preventive strategies, and ultimately improve patient outcomes for individuals facing the dual challenges of cancer and cardiovascular disease.
