Student Affairs Officer acts as an organizer of academic and administrative activities. Provides the necessary information and resources to the students to facilitate completion of their academic requirements. Conducts inquiries with students in matters arising from complaints.
Maintains electronic database and filing system. Supervises routine queries and refers those that are appropriate to the person as required. Assists students regarding inquiries and academic problems.​

Browsing Rules

    ​ - Registered users must produce valid NGHA or COSHP, KSAU-HS ID cards when borrowing materials. Borrowing must be done in person at the library circulation desk.
     - Registered users may borrow two books at a time for one week, from the initial checkout period.
     - These materials circulate for a period of one (1) week.
     - Any lost material will be billed at the cost of a new edition plus a 10 per cent processing fee.
     - The library staff may recall, or withhold the circulation of a book in the library at any time if required for special purposes.
     - Reference books, reserved books, new arrivals and periodicals will not be issued to anybody and shall not be taken out of the library. They should be placed back in the same place from where they were taken or left on the table.
     - All the books should be returned before the commencement of half yearly & annual examinations and other major vacations.
     - If you are unable to find any material you require, feel free to contact library personnel.

    Discipline In The Library

       - All materials taken out of the library must be issued by the library staff at the circulation desk. Any attempt to exit the library with a material that has not been issued will be considered as attempted theft. Please ensure that you properly check out any books taken out of the library's premises.
       - Any attempt to mark, highlight or underline text, write in or fold pages, cut, rip or remove pages or sections of the library books will be considered as mutilation of library materials. The borrower will be held responsible for the damage. Incidents of theft or mutilation will be reported to the university authorities and treated as a breach of KSAU-HS disciplinary code of conduct. All cases will be dealt in accordance with the disciplinary procedures of university. Penalties can range from fines to expulsion of students.
       - If requested by the library staff, users should submit any book or personal material for inspection. All books must be shown to the staff at the library exit for verification.
       - Any verbal or physical abuse against the library staff will be reported to COSHP administration and treated as a violation of the university's code of conduct according to the student by-laws.
       - Complete silence should be observed in the library public areas, except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff at library counters.
       - Eating, drinking or smoking is strictly prohibited in the library.
       - Creating any disturbance or noise, or use of electronic gadgets such as audio players, radios and Walkman’s or cell phones will not permitted in the library. Violators are liable to be questioned and confronted.
       - Personal belongings should be left outside the library at the risk and responsibility of the owner. The library disclaims any liability for loss or damage.
       - The library follows international copyright laws; complete books or journal issues cannot be photocopied.
       - Only library materials will be photocopied or print maximum of 10 pages at a time per patron. Personal notes and documents cannot be photocopied.

      Library Access Policy

        ​ - All registered students, full-time faculty, Joint appointed faculty, visiting faculty and staff of the College of Science and Health Professions- KSAU-HS, Jeddah are eligible for membership in the COSHP Library.
         - Access to the library premises will only be permitted to properly registered users with valid NGHA or KSAU-HS ID cards.
         - The library management reserves the right to suspend or withdraw library privileges from any person who breaches these regulations, and to report such cases to the appropriate university authorities for further action under the disciplinary procedures of the university.
         - Computer use in COSHP Library is restricted to faculty members, students and any other authorized personnel.
         - All users will be held responsible for software applications and installed settings; no additional software will be loaded without the express approval of COSHP Library management. IT will install software or applications deemed necessary in the interests of COSHP, the Library and its users, or the program as a whole.
         - Computers and internet access in the COSHP Library is strictly for the use of medical health information related to clinical studies or research purposes by eligible users. If computers are unoccupied and other library customers are waiting to use the computers, academic staff may use the equipment for appropriate personal use.

        Printers & Photocopy

        ​The library provides printing and photocopying services. Students and faculty are able to print and photocopy pages from books, journals and electronic resources with a limited number of pages under the copyright policy for faculty & students.​

        Scanner

        ​The library provides scanning facility for library users. All library printed resources which can’t be borrowed from the library can be scanned with a limited number of pages under the copyright policy.​

        Wi-Fi Access In The Library

        ​Library users who bring wireless-enabled laptops into the library will be able to access the resources and services of the library via his/her installed web browser. Users should have a KSAU-HS user account to access the wireless network, which is provided to all faculty, staff and students.​

        Computers

        ​The library provides PCs with internet access where members can login with their own accounts and access the electronic books and journals via several databases. It is a comfortable, well-lighted, clean space which ensures effective use of the library's resources.​

        Dilivery Of Material

        Articles will be delivered to faculty, students and researchers via e-mail in PDF format, but hard-copy books will not be delivered. Borrowers may pick up the material requested from the library circulation desk.​

        ILLS: Inter-Library Lending Services

        The library provides loans of non-university materials from international libraries for the university faculty, students and staff.

        Citation verification

        Citation verification service is available upon request for references with missing bibliographical information; this service also supplies the users with information about the impact factor of journals. Should further help be needed, contact the librarians in person at the Library.​

        Literature Search Service

        ​Reference librarians provide computerized literature searches in over 54 databases. These mediated searches are completed within 24 hours of the request. Results will include full citations and abstracts when available. This service is provided to COSHP faculty, staff and affiliates. Full text or abstract results will be delivered by email or by internal mail. Alternatively, the patron can pick up the results from the circulation desk.​

        References & Research Services

        ​Reference and research services are provided at the reference desk in the library. Reference librarians and reference department staff can help you find information using print and non-print resources. They are available to answer questions, assist with research, and provide technical support when using the computers in the reference area.​

        Plan Goals

        The goal of this program is to help students make a smooth academic transition from high school to university studies.​
