The ultimate goal of the department of Public Health is helping to improve the health of the general population in in accordance with the general aim of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics (CPHHI). This can be achieved by doing the following:​

- Offering educational programs of top value and maximum competence based on new and emerging concepts in the public health sciences

- Bridging local, regional, and international partnerships, and acquisition of knowledge and skills.

- Responding to emerging health changes and newly developed health related policies.

- Developing a better and practical tools for m​easuring health and behavior, health policy and planning

- Supporting actions to control public health problems and promoting health in the Kingdom.

- Becoming a national and regional center for public health advancement aiming at applying evidence-based public health to enhance health in KSA and the region
