Dr. Alangari earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Biology, Community Health Education and Health Sciences from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, USA. Dr. Alangari obtained his Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky, USA. He worked with state-level environmental specialists at the Kentucky Division of Water, State of Kentucky to address water quality issues using Geographic Information System. Dr. Alangari received his PhD in Epidemiology from West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia, USA as he worked closely with internationally recognized investigators from WHO, Harvard University, and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center.

He is an active researcher and a poster judge for several health sciences symposiums locally and internationally. He is also a SAS Certified Specialist, which he possesses programming skills necessary for epidemiological statistical analyses.

During his study abroad, he volunteered in several hospitals and student organizations such as being the president of the Saudi Student Club at Portland State University along with joining the social media team at Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission in the USA.
