About The Medical Library
There are central medical libraries in Riyadh campus (male and female libraries) Libraries are dynamic environment that remains focused on its mission to support the research and educational efforts of the medical community.
Libraries in the Medicine Program provide users with a variety of collections (Print and Electronic Resources) that support teaching, learning and research activities. Faculty and students have access to the internet using library computers and their own personal devices via Wi-Fi network. E-resources are accessible on and off-campus.
Library's covering 66 subjects. The Library staff members are professionally motivated and active, constantly shifting their focuses to keep their skills up-to-date and continuing outreach efforts to train users how best to utilize library and electronic resources. Library staff preserve and make print library collections accessible alongside traditional library services. New efforts are under way to improve e-access and archival support. The library staffs have embraced the need to streamline and refocus staff positions to meet the challenges we face. The COM library will continue to explore, support, and promote the broadest access possible to the output of our scientific community.
Library Management
Medical and allied subject are classified under the National Library of Medicine discipline with Medical Subject Heading (Mesh), General collection treated by Library of Congress and National Library of Medicine, The Library has high profile system SirsiDynix Symphony to manage the library materials, The Library books. Online catalogue available through OPAC from the DSL Ac-Knowledge Database.
