The Development and Quality Assurance Unit (DQAU) is the central of national accreditation and development at College of Medicine- Riyadh ​

The Development and Quality Assurance Unit of the College of Medicine is directly related to and an integral component of the program's strategy, which is founded on the following pillars: 

Excellence in research, education, and community services.
​Quality Assurance.

​ The DQAU plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation across various domains within the medical college environment. By supporting innovation, enforcing quality standards, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, the DQAU helps to develop competent physicians, improve healthcare outcomes for the greater community, and achieve national and international quality standards for institutional and program accreditation. Our main role is to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. It administers accrediting processes, produces documentation, and facilitates site visits to demonstrate adherence to defined standards for educational quality and institutional excellence. 

​Track and manage the annual Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation workflow, to provide a sustainable process aligned with the program strategical goals, show best practices, detect problems, suggest solutions, and to raise the work performance to the highest standards.​

Prepare the programs’ applications for national and international accreditation processes​


Interacts with faculty members, subject matter experts, and educational professionals to plan, develop, and constantly update the curriculum.​
Analysis of performance data to assess learning outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with accrediting standards.​
Support college Development and Quality Assurance.​

Spread and sustain quality culture at colleges’ level. ​ 
Ensure the implementation of updated Administrative Policies and Procedures.​​
Implement the accreditation process of the programs applications for national and international accreditation as applicable.​
Ensure archiving of programs accreditation documents for future enhancement. ​
Provide support for institutional accreditation/re-accreditation.​
Collect, analyze and review reports, surveys, KPIs and benchmarks submitted by different Units.​
Submit regular reports to the appropriate bodies upon their request.​
Provide needed support to faculty, staff and students in areas related to his/her domain. ​
​Review resolutions of respective college committee meeting minutes/reports pertaining to quality and academic accreditation and ensure the implementation of any approved recommendations and measure effectiveness.
​​Apply the principles of quality assurance based on the appropriate national accreditation bodies’ standards (e.g. ETEC-NCAAA, SCHS and international) in different academic and non-academic units.
​​Enhance the quality of research and its publication within their college or deanship.
​Perform any other duties related to college development, quality assurance and academic accreditation.
