King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) submitted the eligibility package in April 2014 with a short SSRI and the required 19 items. After signing the contract of the Self-Study project with the NCAAA early 2015, the University launched the project which is overseen by the Self-Study Executive Committee chaired by the Vice President for Development and Quality Management. Throughout the Self-Study Project we seek to demonstrate that the University is forward-looking, aiming for continuous growth and improvement. KSAU-HS Institutional Self-Study process passed through two stages, the first stage was the preparation (April – September 2015) and the second stage was the actual self-study (October 2015 – July 2016).

Development and Quality Management Affairs (DQMA) submitted the final KSAU-HS SSRI report in June 2016 with the supporting evidence, Self-Evaluation Scale (SES), identification of areas for improvement, and answer to NCAAA notations. The SSRI is produced through a process that ensured the participation of the University community with a particular emphasis on campuses involvement and adequate representation of female sectors. During this project the University invited expert consultants who are experienced in quality, NCAAA accreditation, and health professions education. They were involved as either consultants, independent reviewers, or in delivering workshops for the University faculty and staff. There was also strong commitment and support from the University President, Vice Presidents, students, faculty, staff and administration.

 In January 2017, the NCAAA Review Panel visited the University for one week to ensure University’s compliance with the Standards for Accreditation. The visit has included interviews, document revisions and site visits of colleges, laboratoties and libraries. In May 2017, the University has been accredited by the National Center of Assessment and Academic Accreditation (NCAAA).​
