Deans of Pharmacy agree on the national competencies for graduates

The seventh meeting of the deans of College of Pharmacy in the Kingdom was hosted by ​KSAU-HS . The meeting began at 9 am and was chaired by Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Bakiri, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and continued until 3:00 pm.

Dr. Al Bakiri started the meeting with a speech by welcoming his fellow deans and thanking them for their confidence in his election as Chairman of the Committee. Moreover, he added that the Commission is keen to develop the service and outputs of the faculties of pharmacy in its various programs and academic, scientific and research plans and in the graduation of competent national competencies. After that, Dr. Abdulkarim reviewed the agenda of the meetings. The agenda included nine topics discussed at the meeting, which are:

Identify future business committees:
-Committee for the plans of pharmacy programs and unification of competencies after graduation.
-Statistical Information Committee of Pharmacy Colleges.
-Follow up Committee of the Pharmaceutical Science Market.

-Proficiency test for graduates of colleges of pharmacy.
-Proposal to Unify the Year of Internship between Colleges.
-Unified Test for Pharmacy Students.
-Unification of a bachelor degree or doctor of pharmacy.
-National Competencies for Graduates of Pharmacy Colleges in the Kingdom.
-Allotment of a number of admission seats in the program of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties of the colleges of pharmacy.
-Changing PGY-2 from one to two years and renamed it to become the Saudi Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacy.
