President, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences CEO, National Guard Health Affairs, H.E. Dr. Bandar Abdulmohsen Al Knawy, issued a decree appointing Dr. Alia Hussein Zawawi as a member of the continuous professional development department at the university. Dr. Zawawi will be responsible for promoting educational programs, workshops, seminars and conferences at the University and King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
Dr. Alia Zawawi received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1999. She received her Saudi Certificate of Specialization and the Arab Board Certificate in Family Medicine 2005. She was appointed as Consultant in the Department of Family Medicine in 2009. She received a Master Degree in Medical Education from King Saud University. She is also an assistant professor of family medicine at KSAU-HS and the director of the residency-training program for family doctors.
His Excellency also issued a decree appointing Dr. Ghassan Ali Al-Ghamdi as Assistant Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Academic Affairs at the University and King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, where Al-Ghamdi's mission is focused on the overall management of graduate studies and academic affairs, including residency and scholarship programs. Along with his duties, responsibilities and clinical and administrative duties.
Dr. Al-Ghamdi is a consultant in the Department of Intensive Care and Nephrology - Internal Medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh since 2012. He graduated from King Saud University in 2000 and received a Saudi Certificate of Internal Medicine in 2005, a fellowship in kidney disease from the University of Alberta in Canada in 2008, and a fellowship in Critical Care from the University of Toronto in Canada in 2010.
Moreover, His Excellency issued a decree appointing Dr. Kamal Al-Sheikh Mubarak as Assistant Dean of Postgraduate Studies at Al-Ahsa campus. Dr. Kamal is responsible for postgraduate studies, which includes responsibility for fellowship and resident physicians as well as his administrative and clinical responsibilities and duties in King Abdulaziz Medical City.
Dr. Mubarak has been a consultant and pediatrician at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Al-Ahsa since 2005. He is also a graduate of King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Dammam and holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in February 1994. He completed the Diploma in Child Health in October 2005 in Edinburgh and the Riyadh Medical Complex. He was also appointed several times as Chairman of the Committee of Pharmacy and Therapy in the Eastern Region and a representative of the Medical Practices Committee in the Eastern Region and a representative of the Central Pharmacy and Treatment Committee at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Al Ahsa. Furthermore, He has been an active member of the Saudi Heart Association since 2002 and was appointed Director of the Deanship of Graduate Studies from 2011 to 2019.
His Excellency also issued a decree appointing Dr. Marwan Saad Al-Kushi Al-Juhani as Assistant Dean of Education and Training at the University. Al-Kushi is responsible for scholarship and training at the university in addition to his administrative and clinical responsibilities and his duties in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Kushi is a Consultant and Head of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department of the Medical Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh and Director of Training Program for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Physicians residence in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh (KAMC)
Dr. Marwan is also Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Medicine (MB) at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in 1996. After 3 years of internship program, he joined the training program for physiotherapists and rehabilitation residents at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in Canada. He completed his training in 2005. In addition, Dr. Al Kushi is an active participant with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He is actively involved in the academic accreditation process and the Regional Supervisory Committee of the Resident Physician and Rehabilitation Program.
