Under the auspices of His Excellency The University's Director Dr. Bandar Bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Knawy, the Scientific Olympiad and Health Innovation Hackathon Will be launched from 1-5 March 2020 in Riyadh Campus under the supervision of the Student Affairs Intellectual Awareness Unit in partnership with Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and Bader Technology Incubator Program at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the National Laboratory for Emerging Technologies at the National Center for Health Information.
On this occasion, H.E. Program Supervisor, Dr. Badr Almogbel, said: "The Scientific Olympics is the first of its kind at the university aiming to motivate students to innovate, invent and excel in future fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things and 5G applications and the ability to be technically linked to health fields that serve and meet its objectives with Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision. The program seeks to create a platform for talented students to present their innovations and entrepreneurship to specialists to help them develop their ideas and connect them with incubators and centers which will be hosted during the program ".
Moreover, Dr Bader said: "The Scientific Olympics at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University of Health Sciences includes several courses, including the KSAU-HS Health Innovation Hackathon, which aims to find innovative solutions to health problems and improve health services".
The Scientific Olympics also includes the scientific competition organized at the level of the university colleges aiming to create an interactive environment for the exchange of information and raising the scientific level among university students. The two qualified competitors will meet at the final day of the Olympics on March 5th at 2:00 pm at the Conference Center at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University of Health Sciences".
At the Innovative Olympics Exhibition, visitors are given the opportunity to learn about the innovations of young Saudi innovators to inspire university students and give them the opportunity to win the Creative Innovation Award supervised by the Scientific Committee with expertise in the field of innovation and invention, as well as special booths for the Fourth Industrial Revolution related to Health Sector. The program will also host several experienced speakers in the field, including modern technologies and the innovation landscape considering Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence.
