King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) organized the closing ceremony for 12th Research Summer School program (RSS) at KAIMRC Large Auditorium that broadcasted virtually on 12th of August 2021. With the presence of KAIMRC's Executive Director Dr. Ahmed Alaskar, who highlighted the importance of this unique opportunity that aims to contribute to science and be able to work closely with mentors whom have shared their time and experience within a 6 week period. An opportunity that can only be found in KAIMRC. During the closing ceremony the winning students were announced and awarded for their remarkable effort and dedication during this exceptional program. According to RSS Director Dr. Ibraheem Bushnak, this year RSS program produced 19 research studies with the potential of being published from Riyadh and Jeddah. In its 12 year 85 students participated from local and international universities such as King Saud University, King Faisal University and The Medical University of Warsaw and other significant universities.
The success and prosperity of the Research Summer School program continues year after year since its establishment in 2009. Unfortunately with the COVID-19 pandemic this year had its limitation, however, the RSS program will continue to expand and provide the utmost amount of support to students who will hopefully one day make an impact on science.
