KSAU-HS received a special award from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the first time in the Kingdom and three medals, two golds and one silver, as part of its research participation in the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in its 49th edition. Which is considered one of the most important and largest gatherings of international inventors.
This victory is defined as a validation of the excellence that is known at both local and international levels for researchers at KSAU-HS, as this achievement was a result of a competition among more than 1,000 inventions and products presented by scientific and research teams representing various countries around the world.
KSAU-HS won the first prize from the World Intellectual Organization (WIPO) and the gold medal for its project “Microneedle Balloon Catheter”, while also received the second gold medal for the invention “Low-cost 3d-printed Tool WithMultiaxial/Angular VesselOrientation For MicrovascularAnastomosis Training”, while the third medal came in silver for the “Hospital Healthcare Provider Monitoring and Verifying Device and System for PatientCare Condition.” project.
This global forum was sponsored by the Swiss Federal Government, the City of Geneva, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), which enhances the intensity of the competition and its importance to the participating countries and teams, as it is a valuable award that raises the efficiency and reputation of the health institutions that embrace the pioneers of this field and its researchers.
