Under the auspices of the Vice Presidency of Female Affairs and in the presence of Dr. Haya Al Fozan, the Vice President of Female Affairs, Women Empowerment Department (TDM) held the International Day of Women and Girls in Science event on Sunday 12th Feb 2023 in the large auditorium at COPHHI. The event started with a discussion session with the participation of the most prominent Saudi females role models in the medical field Prof. Maha Al Munif, Head of the Child Care Department – KASCH, Dr. Muneera Al Osaimi, member of the Human Rights Commission KSA, Prof. Donia Jawdat, Head of the Cellular Therapy Services Department – KAIMRC and Prof. Fadia Al Buhairan, Senior Advisor - Health Sector Transformation Program and moderated by Dr. Wafa AlSuwairi, Associate Dean College of Medicine - female section, KSAU-HS. The session highlighted the role of the research and innovation in sustainable development the most frequent challenges facing Saudi women in this filed. Later on, Dr. Mariam Al Eisa, Assistant Professor - College of Medicine, AL Faisal University took the audience to a lovely artistic journey with her lecture about the Art and Science. The conclusion of this event was with Dr. Manal Al Osaimi, Vice Head of pharmaceutical chemistry department at PSAU and Prof. Aisha Basoudan, Consultant in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics who spoil the audience with their experiences and knowledge in the research field. At the end of the event, the attendees went on a tour at KAIMARC.
